I don’t know if you accept requests, there is a novel that I want to read very much. the translation was left only 3 chapters. you translated a novel of this author before and it was very good. I made a very nice mtl in this novel, but I couldn’t read it, would I have a chance to read it with your wonderful translation. thank you very much.

    1. I’m always open to requests! This novel is actually on my enormous “to read” list, so I will definitely look into it when I’m able to pick up another translation. I can’t promise to pick it up until I confirm it’s something I would enjoy working on, but I will definitely give it a read!

      1. Thanks for replying! I was just wondering if you have a feed where you let people know if stories are updated. A lot of translation communities do use discord because it can automate the notifications, but I also know some people who use RSS or just Twitter. Otherwise, I will just come and check back this site every other week.

  7. Are you interested in translating a novel with scum shou? I heard it has less dogblood than the ordinary wife/husband chasing crematorium novels so I really want to read it but english translation stopped it Ch 33 for a year so I really hope you will pick up this one if you have time.

    1. It really depends on the novel! If you know of any good ones, let me know. Ancient/historical/romcom are what I usually prefer, but I’ll definitely branch out if the story is good enough.

        the novel i suggest is Criminal Investigation Files by 清韵小尸. It is solving crimes but is BL.
        Shanghai Fantasy has translated the novel till 168 chapters out of 192+18 extras.

    It’s well written, amazing characters and world building set in ancient times, and the ML and MC have great chemistry! I will say that the turning point for them happens in chapter 5 so you can read and see if you like it.

    The protagonist heavily reminds me of Strong Winds Returns Home. He’s sleepy and lazy but highly intelligent.
    he doesn’t have a dream world, but he has the same indifferent attitude.

    the story is funny because of the protagonist’s inner reactions and realistic in the ancient times setting. The ML is dark but gentle to the protagonist so there is no dog blood in the story (even if it seems there could be since he’s low key yandere ish).

    Their love story is actually beautiful. And you can feel that they are a good match despite being complete opposites.

    2. I started binge-reading this over the weekend, and I’m really enjoying it! It feels really grounded somehow despite the “little dark room fanfiction” trope, and more realistic in a lot of aspects than many ancient times novels. Their relationship especially. ML has already been married and had children, which would be expected of him in his position. So many stories omit that part for the sake of a more ‘pure’ romance between the main characters. I’m just barely past the part where ML initially reveals his feelings, so I haven’t gotten a taste of their actual romance yet. I’m definitely going to finish reading it this week. Not sure yet whether I’ll pick it up for translation since it would be a very big undertaking, but I’ll finish up a couple of my works in progress and reevaluate then!

      1. So glad you’re enjoying it! Yeah it’s one of the more realistic novels I’ve read but done in a way that’s still fun because of He Yuxuan’s character. 

        Totally get what you mean by big undertaking. I should have clarified that I was recommending it as a good read since I know strong winds returns home is your favorite (and one of mine too) instead of translation request. 

        I only gave this book a chance because his sleepy and lazy character caught my eye in the beginning chapters. And I ended up really liking him enough to read through the entire book (and it’s a long book). There were so many beautiful moments and the writing is wonderful, but I was impatient to get to Zhu Di’s parts so I didn’t enjoy it as much as I should have sometimes. 

        Let me know how you liked the story when you finish 🙂

      2. I finished it! Thank you so much for the recommendation! He Yuxuan is definitely one of my favorite kinds of characters, down-to-earth, smart, and a genuinely good person.

        I liked Zhu Di too, even though he’s a terrible father. Good lord. But I suppose an emperor can’t be held to modern parenting standards….His reactions to the little black room and erotic fanfiction were so calm and understated, it cracked me up. I think He Yuxuan deserves better than him, but they do match each other pretty well.

        There were parts especially in the second half of the novel where I sort of skimmed the politics to get to the good stuff between the main characters, but overall it was a very fun read!

    It’s a showbiz novel and the MC’s situation is a little bit hard, but still the story is sweet and fun, also it wasn’t that long, around 60s chapters.

    Actually I found this novel on wp but it has a different character’s names? idk why.. also it only has 5 chapters and never update anymore 😦

    So, I found the original one.. and I cannot find any-website that translated this novel.

    I hope you can consider to pick this novel up, so I can finally now how’s the MC going hhshshshs

You have translated so many novels that there is plenty to read but at the same time they are all gems so we don’t have to go and filter through hundreds of novels like some other platforms. (which is insanely time consuming).

    Loving every single novel you have picked up so far and your translations leave me in awe. Sometimes I come across a sentence/word and genuinely have no idea how you even managed to translate it (saying this as someone who grew up speaking Chinese).

    Really, thank you so much for making this platform and spending time on translations and such. Sending you so much love and giddiness and happiness and hehehe rolling on the bed kicking my legs when a new chapter comes out please understand that I regularly gnaw on the screen when reading some of these novels and words cannot express my love thank you for your service please feel a fraction of the love I have for you I beg.

    1. I’m so glad you’re enjoying the stories! I really needed that encouragement, so thank you for that! I’m working on my Mandarin every day, I just seem to have hit a plateau (I’m self-taught, though I would love to take classes if I had the money). Thankfully I have experience as an editor, which helps with comprehension and word choice. Some sentences are still like a puzzle I have to figure out, so that’s really fun! I’m always open to reading or translating suggestions if you have any! Thanks again for the encouragement!

    same author as He Yuxuan. This ML is as dark as Zhu Di though. But the writing is very beautiful and it’s a later work so her skills improved a bit. It is completely translated on fantml but I honestly recommend Jjwxc if u can.
